Comments by Lanard: Ocala is one of my favorite places. It's surrounded by some of the most beautiful horse farms in the world and the Ocala National Forest. Additionally, it is the home of the "Silver Springs Attraction" with its famous glass-bottom boats.

It is about an hour's drive to either coast or to attractions in Orlando (SeaWorld, Walt Disney World, etc.).

It is also only 30-45 minutes to Gainesville, home of the University of Florida Fighting Gators. You might have heard of them; their basket ball and football teams only won a combined 3 national championships in two years!

Ocala has a moderate climate and a pretty diverse economy and boasts an excellent public education system.
