Business Letter Spacing
Business Letter Spacing
is all about making your letters visually appealing and easy to read. The more they meet these criteria the more likely they are to get read. After all, that’s the point of writing letters!Of the more than 200 letters I’ve written over the last couple of years I’ve had the most success with the following guidelines: Keep letters brief, concise and to the point. The average reader’s attention span is very short and if you don’t capture their attention early you might as well not mail your letters.
Use lots of white space. Specifically, short sentences and paragraphs no more than 3 sentences long are ideal. Use simple words. While you don’t want to “dumb down” to communicate with your readers, it does you no good at all to use words they won’t understand. Amazingly enough, these simple easy to implement tips on better business letter spacing can have an extraordinary impact on your letter writing campaigns. When you incorporate them into your letter writing style your readers may actually attend to them long enough to read them. And when they do they might respond to your call to action; which might be a call to you, a visit to your website, signing up for a seminar that you sponsor, etc. In the end it means more leads, prospects and business.
